Our story

Outdoors BD started with a simple frustration: if you wanted quality camping gear in Bangladesh, you either paid a fortune importing it or made do with whatever you could find. Jewel Rana, an avid trekker who had explored everything from the Chittagong Hill Tracts to Sylhet’s haors, decided there had to be a better way.

In 2020, Outdoors BD was born — a store built by outdoor enthusiasts, for outdoor enthusiasts. Our goal has always been straightforward: bring reliable, tested outdoor gear to Bangladeshi adventurers at fair prices, with the kind of honest advice you’d get from a fellow hiker.

Today we carry everything from tents and backpacks to camping stoves, hammocks, and rain gear — and we keep adding products based on what our community actually asks for.

Founder

Jewel Rana — CEO & Founder

Jewel is a budget traveller and outdoor enthusiast who has travelled across Bangladesh’s hills, forests, and coastlines. He started Outdoors BD because he couldn’t find a reliable source of outdoor gear in the country — so he built one. He oversees everything from product selection to customer support, and still personally tests gear before adding it to the store.

Jewel is also the Co-founder and director of Bonomali Mangrove Resort, a mangrove eco-resort near the Sundarbans. Outdoors BD customers enjoy an exclusive 10% discount on every stay.
